The Soar Point or ‘The Point’, as it is know locally, is a fantastic pub in the heart of DMU campus. It is one of the best-kept secrets on campus and by far the busiest pub, so obviously not the best-kept secret! A seemingly small doorway leads into a TARDIS of a pub and is home to Team Soar Point, led by the one and only Soar Point Porker. The balcony overlooks the Grand Union Canal and is a great place to relax and enjoy a pint, while watching the wildlife get on with its day. If you need something more upbeat, then the pub boasts two SKY boxes and an impressive 14 TVs, along with a big screen. The jukebox is home to over 33,000 titles and there are three pool tables, meaning that you can always get a game. The culinary team is available daily, until 9pm, to serve you ‘two meals for £6.50’ or perhaps a mighty brunch.
