Polar Bear, Leicester

The Polar Bear is on the DMU campus, in the heart of Leicester, on the site of the former Fox’s Glacier Mint factory – hence ‘Polar Bear’, after the famous Peppy the polar bear. The pub is one of the oldest in Leicester and is a focal point before, during and after Leicester Tigers and Leicester City home games, welcoming a mix of students and local customers. In 2010, we proudly won the Best Bar None award, for being the most family-friendly pub in Leicester, through our welcoming of ‘dads and their lads’, before and after games. The pub recently regained SKY Sports, including in 3D.
